HILLARY'S EMAILS!ALL OF THEM!

Where Are Her Emails?

Here They Are! Why Kenneth Goldsmith Printed Out All 60,000 of Hillary Clinton’s Emails for His New Show in Venice

Kenneth Goldsmith’s “HILLARY: The Hillary Clinton Emails” is on view at Despar Teatro Italiano, Campiello de l’Anconeta, 1944, 30121 Venezia, May 9–November 24, 2019.
So Goldsmith didn't think they were so bad. I read the ones posted in a column on my timeline and I was appalled.
To me they were exactly like those nasty notes sent in high school to certain people from certain people.
Yes it was just like high school.
Only Hillary wanted to be president of my country and interact with rulers of other countries,
only she was still in high school.
That is the mentality of Hillary Clinton.
I dont want high school to rule the world for me.

TATTOO ME

A tattoo inscribes memories
Is it Death or the Roses
You want
For your pain and pleasures?
I will wound you until
Your voices inside are still.

“I wish to be tattooed,” she said
All up and down my arm.
Stitch my scar roses with thorns
Hearts and Forget-Me-Nots
What is it I cannot remember?

INVISIBLE ONE

He has frozen time
To give himself make-believe time.
To alter a destiny that cannot be altered
His body of pictures
Fragmented images to be cut up
Put together - like a puzzle
But all is complete and pure
To eyes that see and know for sure
Do not forget Nyarlathotep
Comes for all
Who cannot pierce bewitching beauty
To observe Death and ugliness hiding The Fall
Walk away do not follow.
There is no safe place with others
In this time of hostile feathers.

Is Kim Kardashian a Simulacrum? Kanye West's Galatea?

Is She Real?

This is worth reading as  you are looking at a modern Pygmalion story. Kanye told her she must change her look and since "I really trust him. He was right." Here is the link to Pygmalion if you don't know the myth where the great sculptor announced he was through with women and began to make the most beautiful woman in the world out of Ivory. ( Oh all those elephants dead.)He falls in love with his creation, Venus breathes life into her, they marry and have a child.  KK is really a walking talking Simulacrum. A copy of a copy with no original. She is beautiful and the Vogue photo shoot is wonderful. But is she REAL? She says she is planning to take the bar and become a criminal lawyer to help those of her race who are overlooked and sentenced unfairly. We will see I guess.

So Kanye "sculpted Kardashian's Look and you see it now above.

Those of her race? Which one. She thinks Black but is she Black?

In case you don't know Fanon, he was a Black psychoanalyst from Martinique who wrote a number of books you should read for your own knowledge.

And here's Pygmalion with his very own Simulacrum Galatea.

Reading Julian Assange With Thomas Merton

Into this world, this demented inn, in which there is absolutely no room for Him at all, Christ has come uninvited. But because He cannot be at home in it, because He is out of place in it, and yet He must be in it, His place is with those who do not belong, who are rejected by power because they are regarded as weak, those who are discredited, who are denied the status of persons, tortured, exterminated. With those for whom there is no room, Christ is present in this world. He is mysteriously present in those for whom there seems to be nothing but the world at its worst.

Julian has said publicly that he thinks the only thing that can save us and our world is Christianity.

Jesus was following Isaiah and it seems to me that Simone Weil was following Jesus. Assange? Assange has given us TRUTH on those who govern or attempt to govern us in our EVIL EMPIRE. He has been imprisoned in the UK and awaits forced extradition to ROME! We must not let them take him to torture and imprison him for telling us TRUTH. We now live under totalitarianism that is rapidly metastasizing to enfold our lives.

Facebook Banning for Predicting the Synagogue Shooting

It seems that a short time before the Synagogue shooing this past week my post predicting such a thing went up on Facebook as a comment where it was immediately reported and I was banned. I was also unable to dispute the banning as the software deliberately glitched on me many times over the 3 days I could not post. So I went on twitter and tweeted the hell out of it. Here it is saved.

You can't post or comment for 3 days

This is because you previously posted something that didn't follow our Community Standards.
This comment goes against our standards on hate speech, so no one else can see it.

So please when is a prediction HATE SPEECH?
Janet Abbey The #Zionists are sealing the doom of Jews all over the world. They will be hunted and killed because of these insane Zionists.

My explanation:

An error because I was warning that Zionists are endangering Jews everywhere and that especially includes my own Jewish friends. I resent this censoring that ONLY applies to Zionists, not sadistic images posted for attention on killing animals or torturing them. Just for what people say in response to torture is censored. FB is probably going to suffer for doing this as the quality of posters has been going down down down because of your censoring. You do not get the trash that are cluttering up Facebook but mostly those who give thoughtful intelligent responses. I am one of these and I resent this.

Then when I posted this complaint to them after being asked to do so if I disagreed I got this:

Could not process your request

We could not process your request. Please try again later.
With a blue link saying   Close

I have been using twitter to comment about this FB fug. So now I get this when I try to explain the misreading. I guess the algorithm is AI and not so good is it. Not a question.

Facebook users are the PRODUCT of Facebook. We are the PRODUCT Facebook sells and makes billions from. In your leisure time you are enriching the CORPORATION of Facebook and it cares not a whit for you. YOU are the COMMODITY Facebook sells. You are no more important to Facebook than the elephant being tortured is to the circus, or the pigs being slaughtered for your dinner. We are all commodities and that includes humans. So Facebook addicts you to your "friends" who are not friends, to your thoughts in Simulated Reality, your life in Simulated Reality, then turns off your access because its algorithm can't read and because the commentor that cant read either, reported you.

This was a wake up call for me. I feel I shovel sand on Facebook because most people on it are not well educated. How can they be when they went to school under NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND when all chirren were left behind so left behind is now normalized and institutionalized. Then to fix it and tweak it a little all of them can get advanced university degrees with student loans that make them indentured servants for the rest of their lives. They think they are well educated. They have master degrees and PhD's galore out there. Have you ever watched any of them studying in a public place? Have you seen them filling out pages in workbooks. Going to Harvard or Yale in Detroit on alternative campuses or doing an online degree with some college that is now extinct and can give your degree no clout when you go for a job demanding that degree? The swindle is so astronomical it cannot be believed so it keeps on cooking.

Is a post predicting the shooting so outrageous that it is even investigated by the powers of government? Am I the only one that sees the genocide of Palestinians by the ZIONISTS of Israel as leading to a lifetime of consequences for Jews all over the world. Cannot the Jews even see how they are endangering their families, their lives, their children? To me this is all so OBVIOUS a future coming at us like a freight train. Now each one of us who goes out publicly with our Jewish friends is now at risk. And still no one tells the ZIONISTS to stop as that is considered Anti-Semitic! Anti-Semitic? How are words anti-Semitic but risking murder is not?

Please tell me. All this is making that wretch Gordon Winrod look like a prophet!

Thoughts on Slavoj Zizek and Jordan Peterson Debate

Zizek and Peterson Debate

Much can be said and unsaid about this debate. The tickets were expensive and scalped even higher, showing the Brandens were ultimately right and Ayn Rand not. People will pay for philosophy lectures.

The Intro listed the academic credentials beginning with Z who was immediately disgusted. The ritual of the accounting and awards of the institutions of the repressive states that have granted their seals of approval - read BRANDS - for the presence of Z and Peterson on this stage, before this audience, presented for the cameras and manufactured for the prestige and brownie points - gold stars? - that will be received by the producers. Slavoj Zizek of course is being pimped for Peterson, his western supporters and their institutions.

Peterson presents a formidable and fashionable image, carefully trimmed beard, hair, and I bet finger and toenails. A Simulacrum of the early T.S. Eliot Virginia Woolf describes in her diary.

I invited X - sorry forget? - for lunch. Do come. Eliot will be here in his four piece suit.

And this is how Wyndham Lewis has painted his portrait as a young man in Ezra Pound's salon.
T.S.Eliot Portrait by Windham Lewis

The simulacrum also smacks of the great, brilliant and unwavering man of integrity, charm and charisma, the older Leo Steinberg, who said, "Psychoanalysis saved my life." Those of us who have experienced analysis - experienced is the only valid familiarity that really counts when one is talking, writing, thinking about analysis - have all been saved by it, by Freud, and all those already saved, in order to suffer ordinary normal unhappiness rather than neurotic misery.

The other statement among many Steinberg tossed off was that in art school he graduated with first prizes in all his exhibited senior work. "And I knew then that I would never be great." So he stopped, because anyone who has personally experienced the presence of Steinberg, knew that he wanted to be great. He was superb in seeing what he called the watershed moment -

The Foucaldian CUT

 -  in a painter's life or in painting in particular. That moment when Jasper Johns first exhibited, Steinberg was disturbed. He didn't like the work but it disturbed him so he went back and he made the Foucauldian CUT that ended Abstract Expressionism with John's breakout work. He tells of this in his book Other Criteria.

Anyway Peterson mimics the image of those two men: urbane, cultured, educated, an extremely attractive and articulate man of his time. Z is Z, rumpled T-Shirt, roughly groomed and shaved, and wildly gesturing. A man utterly himself, warts and all, who exhibits a mass and mess of thinking that defies all linearity, continuity, persuasive progressions, categorizations and lists.

Ah those fascist ever present lists that delineate all knowledge for us.

Two Choruses from The Rock-Eliot

The endless cycle of idea and action,
Endless invention, endless experiment,
Brings knowledge of motion, but not of stillness;
Knowledge of speech, but not of silence;
Knowledge of words, and ignorance of the Word. p. 81

All our knowledge brings us nearer to our ignorance,
All our ignorance brings us nearer to death,
But nearness to death no nearer to GOD,
Where is the Life we have lost in living?
Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge?
Where is the knowledge we have lost in information?
And Foucault:

Information is not knowledge. Knowledge is not knowing. Knowledge is made for CUTTING

Peterson is a clinical psychologist by training and he sees - saw? - patients. In the part of the debate about ethics and morality he uses the example of the patient that cannot stop wrong actions, but who has also formulated a goal for therapy. To reach his goal in therapy these obstructions to getting to the goal must be confronted. Peterson employs stopping the action of wrongness in one of small seemingly unimportant instances as a point of a beginning, an initial starting place.

A series of wrong actions? A repetition of wrong actions? And Peterson is using Wolpe and Goldstein's Behavior Therapy method of "thought stopping" turned into "action stopping" while Z has quoted Hegel, "To act is always to err," which Peterson seizes on.

The Owl of Minerva flies only at dusk.- Hegel

Here is where I might have intervened with, "If your patient repeatedly performs the 'wrong' action," reading through Simone Weil here, "What is the value of the opposite, the 'right action' and consider if the patient almost always knows the wrong action, then your patient almost always knows the 'right action' and avoids it. Does the patient know the right action or does your patient know the right action but does not know she knows?"

This is what would interest my knowing in just one of these exchanges lost in the morass of communication - discourse? - between Z and P.

The civilized discussion Peterson feels has taken place has occurred on the surface, yes. Because Zizek has not probed deeper to expose the contradictions, and Peterson's use of The Communist Manifesto - which was written for the workers in the factory - instead of a deep and thorough reading of Capital. The Grundrisse is not even mentioned. And Althusser's unsurpassed reading of Marx in his Ideology and Ideological State Apparatuses of Reproduction.

The inadequate scholarship of Peterson, the Western debater, is visible, but only to those who have some grasp of the invisible scholarship here in this debate. The scholarship displayed by a celebrity figure the west has manufactured and produced to be pimped by the incomparable, irreplaceable, anti-xeroxible Slavoj Zizek.

The reader might also remind herself that the USSR employed many therapies, to its dissidents especially. Behavior Therapy based on Pavlov's Conditioned Response and Skinner's Operant Conditioning was especially honored. The only one that was banned, disallowed, punished was psychoanalysis.

So of course, that was the one I wanted most to experience since I was/am a negatively suggestible person. Did I write about Happiness and Capitalism here?

Reading ERIC HOFFER's The True Believer

This book has been around since 1951 and there are many copies very affordable at Amazon and I guess elsewhere.

Hoffer outlines the variables necessary and sufficient for recruiting members to a MASS MOVEMENT.  The US has none of these variables and is immune to being recruited.

What about the homeless! They have nothing. Well when people are in this mode of survival - not living, survival - they spend the day trying to find a safe place to rest, maybe eat their lunch if they have found food, or a safe place to sleep, etc. The day to day survival precludes and takes their energy for any time for thinking, contemplation, solidarity, or plans to resist. It is just day to day and just that's the way the world is for me now. They have no communal support and are in competition with each other every day.

Equality is not a variable, and this is what Americans demand and yell for all the time. Equality is divisive and leaves people wanting more and more seeing that their neighbors have more than they. So as Americans demand equality they are becoming more alone, frustrated, desperate, passive and helpless. And competitive.

But the good news is that US policy abroad is creating refugees, maybe manufacturing refugees is a better word, in apparently unlimited numbers as they keep increasing.
When people are torn from their country, their tribe, their groups, their families, their homes, their hopes and dreams invested in their traditional way of life, and the complete loss of all communal financial and emotional support they are RIPE for recruiting into a

MASS MOVEMENT
that will offer them what they have lost.

China will not have to wean them away from their homes, work at disrupting their family life (Marx), as it is all being done for them by the US military. China will be able to arrive on the scene offering hope and a purposeful future of cooperative activity, just as they are doing in Zimbabwe. BTW China knows this and is just playing the Waiting Game.

Their history is to NOT have to fire a shot.
And their history is to order all into a harmonic world peace. They have been to boot camp on all this in their 4000 years of chaos, wars, aggressions, conflicts, dynasties, competition of rulers, etc. And each dynasty studied the failures and successes of the past ones so they would not be repeated.

Also China has been able to embrace and obtain the strengths of their conquerors and the ones they have conquered. This is exactly what Marcuse said of the capitalistic machine. It devours its opposition - like Pac-Man - and makes itself stronger.

This is going to be very interesting as China's challenge - reading through Toynbee now - is deterritorialized corporate capitalism. Will China be able to meet that challenge and continue on a path of growth.

Enter China and its Communistic, Socialistic Culture. As the US creates ever more people for China to win over they have no idea they are sowing the seeds for the future of the world that is coming at us like an unseen tractor trailer down the highway.

We should be reminded that the US has multitudes of Chinese citizens already solidly in the Universities, businesses, the arts, etc. They are formidable, educated, obedient and disciplined. The strength of China has been in the order of the families laid down by Confucius.

Already world finance is lining up in China. We received the Gift of 9-11 in the Symbolic Order as expounded by Jean Baudrillard. A Counter-Gift is required. Not right away but it must be returned and it must be greater than the Gift or the receiver of the Gift must commit suicide. So we are seeing the US committing suicide now. Killing Bin Laden occurred in the Order of Production not the Symbolic Order and it doesn't count.

So here we are fussing about who released emails that told the truth which we didn't want released of course, and fussing about Biden smelling a woman's hair a few years ago and touching another one.Well Nero fiddled his fiddle while Rome burned, didn't he?

I am struck by the resonance of their images for me.

We are drowning  in information. How long can we stand to go on listening to a political DISCOURSE that spits info out at us like a fire hydrant. That's what "mansplaining" is!

Without any knowledge and absolutely without any KNOWING.

TRUMPS TRAP - Trumps Wall Getting Stone Walled!

Fast Food for Congressional Critters to Debate his Wall
Or is it TRUMPS TRICK

HEADS HE WINS, TAILS HE DOESN'T LOSE

HEADS THEY LOSE, TAILS THEY DONT WIN

IT'S CALLED A CATCH-22 REMEMBER

IF HE GETS HIS WALL, HE WINS. IF HE DOESN'T HE GETS TO MAKE FOOLS OF HOW THEY ARE STONE-WALLING HIM AND HE WILL DO A TRUMAN AND RUN AGAINST CONGRESS AND THROW THEM OUT OF OFFICE

So he begins with a lunch of Fast food.
It is a very funny INSULT!
Did he really do this?

Trump set the trap, closed the door by shutting down the gummint. Then he padlocked it by instituting a danger shutdown involving DANGER to the American people. Oh my! All they have said so far is that he is behaving improperly. You know how parents tell you you are being impolite when you say the truth directly and embarrass them. That. They have no other DISCOURSE but their everyday Political Discourse and still dont realize they are in it. Well ya know, the fish doesn't get water either until she is out of it.

Trump refuses to play ball on their playing field of Political Discourse and they cannot follow him and mirror him. Alexandria Ocasio - Cortez does though. She is the woman Trump has been waiting for all his life. She is his biggest challenge. She mirrors him and BEATS him! She makes a statement with her clothes, her hair, her makeup down to her finger nails. She is on his wavelength and one ups him on the way. Poor Melania couldn't even get the message on her jacket right then flubbed her explanation. Oh well, she is beautiful and that takes a lot of time to remain well preserved as you age. And you know how Trump throws the old ones under the bus.

Congress closed the gummint on Clinton and he waited until they felt the pressure and gave in.

Trump has flipped it. Inverted it and done it himself to put them in a Catch-22.

Now the neo-liberals and the neo-cons are cooperating with each other against Trump. What we knew all along was really one playing good cop/bad cop

is now visible!

Trump's Trap of demanding his wall is a trick of strategy waylaying Washington D.C. political critters. The trap was open, they walked in, Trump shut the door and locked it with his shutting down the government. Congress did this to Clinton and he bluffed them and won. It has been threatened but this is the first time a sitting prez did it. I think anyway. Be careful what you do as it can be inverted and turned against you. Now the precedent has been set for a president to close up shop. Gulp.

U Cant See Anyone But Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
When people noticed the monochromatic look, Ocasio-Cortez responded on Twitter, writing, "I wore all-white today to honor the women who paved the path before me, and for all the women yet to come. From suffragettes to Shirley Chisholm, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the mothers of the movement."

And there's more. Her red lipstick, fingernails and gold hoop earrings like
 SONIA SOTOMAYOR!

HER BRAIDS

INSTAGRAM!

And her suit is not a knockoff of a Hillary suit. Makes Hillary now look old timey too even though she is not here.
She is more here by being absent.

Trump loves her I bet. AOC I mean.
She is his biggest challenge as she knows his game and plays it better.

Cortez is doing PROTEST.
This is
PERFORMANCE ART FOLKS.
This is one way to do it. Copy it and it will get boring.

Poems After Reading T. S. Eliot's Advice.

ESTHER OF RICKLINS

The old hunched shabby tiny lady
Was the one to see
If you couldn't find it in her hardware store
That held everything in the world
In that tiny town by Narberth Station
How many times did she chase you to the door
To make sure
She could get what you wanted?
As you were leaving in a huff, finding it in all the stuff.
Esther on her arthritic hips and legs
Wouldn't let you go empty-handed.

I bet you never saw Esther
At the Metropolitan Opera
Done up,
Warmly wrapped in her long mink coat
Unafraid to work unembarassed.

LANDENBERG PA-Fall 1966;LSD

I could have sat there through all eternity
On that low crumbling stone wall by woods and weeds
A defunct railroad turned out to pasture
Uncut grasses were high and dry that autumn day
Each blade the same and distinctly different
Shimmering in a pale rainbow aura of surprise beauty never known.
The apple in my hand became my hand,my hand the apple
And all was Grace in this morning of the world.
I bit and slowly savored the sweet sourness
Of Eve's mouth with all the world after to come.

666 is the Mark of the BEAST

2666?
666 the MARK of The BEAST.

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

William Butler Yeats

Bethlehem is in Palestine. The BEAST is there.
Is Israel the BEAST being born?

CTHULHU?

666 x 4 = 2664 WHICH IS ALMOST 2666 eh so let's round it off

Bolano has doubled 666 and redoubled  giving us the TITLE so much in controversy as to its meaning right now. The Critics and Reviewers are stressed out over this date.

When 666 is tripled then 1998 is the result when Bolano is working against death to finish 2666.
They cannot kill him for this expose because he will be/is dead.

Doubled and redoubled is a term Irigaray often uses. Did Bolano read her? I am guessing no but it's just a guess. It could go either way.

THE BOOK FOR WOMEN TO KNOW WELL
Without it you are half asleep. Maybe even more.

2666 is divided into 5 sections.

1. The Part About The Critics.
2. The Part About Amalfitano
3. The Part About Fate
4. The Part About The Crimes
5. The Part About Archimboldi

5 is a Prime Number

PRIME

PRIMO FIRST PREMIER MOST IMPORTANT .......

Klaus Haas- "No one pays attention to these killings, but the secret of the world is hidden in them." (p. 348)

IN ONE OF HIS MANY NOTES FOR 2666, BOLANO INDICATES THE EXISTENCE IN THE

WORK OF A "HIDDEN CENTER," CONCEALED BENEATH WHAT MIGHT BE

CONSIDERED THE NOVEL'S "PHYSICAL CENTER." THERE IS REASON TO THINK THAT

THIS PHYSICAL CENTER IS THE CITY OF SANTA TERESA, FAITHFUL REFLECTION OF

CUIDAD JUAREZ, ON THE MEXICAN-US BORDER. THERE THE FIVE PARTS OF THE

NOVEL ULTIMATELY CONVERGE; THERE THE CRIMES ARE COMMITTED THAT

COMPRISE ITS SPECTACULAR BACKDROP (AND THAT ARE SAID BY ONE OF THE

NOVEL'S CHARACTERS TO CONTAIN "THE SECRET OF THE WORLD"

T.S. Eliot in Sweeney Agonistes:

Any man has to, needs to, wants to
Once in a lifetime, do a girl in.

The "Gravitational Law" of 1666 (Newton) is pulling inexorably toward the center of the world.
The Secret of the World The Crimes are telling us?

What is that SECRET?

The SECRET is the PRIME SECRET of Our World.
Forget about the rest of the baggage.

That is what Irigaray is telling us and Bolano is graphically illustrating for us in fiction.

The mirroring? Is the mirror convex? Maybe it is concave? Maybe two mirrors facing each other where you are not in either one of them when you stand between them?
Plato's Cave is coming UNDONE!

The SECRET of 2666 is revealed by Irigaray

Irigaray's convoluted deconstruction of Freud and Plato is told in fiction by Bolano. Now we can't complain that we don't understand because Irigaray is too difficult for us to read.
Bolano makes her crystal clear.

Bolano indicates the existence in the work of a "hidden center," concealed beneath what might be considered the novel's "physical center." There is reason to think that this physical center is the city of Santa Teresa, faithful reflection of Ciudad Juarez, on the Mexican-U.S. border.

There the five parts of the novel ultimately converge; there the crimes are committed that comprise its spectacular backdrop (and that are said by one of the novel's characters to contain "the secret of the world"). As for the "hidden center"...might it not represent 2666 itself, the date upon which the whole novel rests? (p.896)

No the hidden center is not the number 2666 in my reading of 2666.

BOLANO 2666 My Reading of the Number

Words Written in Blood should not be read but learnt by HEART.- NIETZSCHE

Everyone reviewing this book bores me. As Bolano has said writing is like being a detective and reading is being a detective.

2666

666 is the MARK of The BEAST.
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born? - Yeats

Newton's Law of Gravitation came to him about 1666, when he was twenty-four. ...in those days I was in the prime of my age for invention, and minded mathematics and philosophy more than at any time since.

Bolano planned his great masterpiece for awhile before he wrote it.  2666 was being finished up when Bolano was forty-eight, just double Newton's age and 1000 years later as a date. Bolano was dying and died just before finishing it but the book we have is just about exactly the way he indicated it be finished.

2666 - 1666 = 1000 a nice number eh.

2666 divided by 2 = 1333 a prime number which is nice but not serious.

A REAL Mathematician writing about REAL mathematics

And this is where I happened to find the Newton quote. IMO this is what Bolano means by being a reading detective. The problem with the date exists in all reviews. So I had stored the problem in my head and here I found my reading without searching. Also on pages 64-65 Hardy compares his essay as trying to do for Mathematics what Bradley did in an incredibly long and complex book, which is one of two reasons I bought the book. Actually the third reason is that I have a "bank account" at my favorite local bookstore BOOKMARX in SpringfieldMO.

Appearances in Bolano talk are SEMBLANCES about which he has much to say

Bradley was the great influence on T.S. Eliot when he was a philosophy student at Cambridge. Hardy was there also.

The Wasteland
Prufrock

The Cocktail Party
When two people who know they do not understand each other
Breed children whom they do not understand
And who will never understand them.

Can we just say there is no love.

Since Bolano was a poet most of his life and turned to fiction after he was married and to leave an inheritance to his family, we know for sure he knew Eliot the great poet of the twentieth century. So surely Bolano also knew F. H. Bradley as his primary influence and we pick this up in all the inclusions of SEMBLANCES Bolano discusses for us. That is, the world is composed of appearances, of semblances. One tears away the veil of appearance - semblance - and the next layer of appearance appears, and so on.

Exceptional edition I chose because Wyndham Lewis writes an essay on Eliot. He was a great influence on Marshall McLuhan and I have been waiting for the universe to present me with his writing somewhere, sometime, and it appeared so that is how I got to Bradley and was pleased that Hardy revered him also. He has been lost in the folds of philosophy where another Foucauldian wants to dig him out.

Extra also in this collection and another McLuhan influence I. A. Richards with another wonderful essay to match Lewis's one. This book with a portrait of Eliot.

Not as good IMO but a portrait of Eliot by Wyndham Lewis on the cover.  Peter Ackroyd editor.

So I was just out of this detective play when I started 2666. I have a default in my mind on Foucault and anything else I am wondering about.  I only read Hardy after Bolano for the math part and was astonished. Bolano playing with Newton and himself. One young, one dying young captured by imagination. Is this true? I have no idea but I like it and I bet Bolano would have been charmed.

Bolano likes playing with numbers:

The book was Rafael Dieste's Testamento geometrico published in 1975. (One copy at Amazon for just under $1000!) Amalfitano will take clothespins, hang it on his clothesline in his backyard to turn it into a Duchamp of his own. It is divided into three parts: On the front flap , the reader was informed that the Testamento geometrico was really three books, "each independent, but functionally correlated by the sweep of the whole," and then it said "this work representing the final distillation of Dieste's reflections and research on Space, the notion of which is involved in any methodical discussion of the fundamentals of Geometry." At that moment, Amalfitano thought he remembered that Rafael Dieste was a poet.

This time the advance he sent Archimboldi was bigger than any previous advance, in fact so large that Martha, the secretary, before mailing the check to Cologne, brought it into Mr. Bubis's office and asked (not once but twice) whether the sum was correct, to which Mr. Bubis answered yes, it was, or it wasn't, what did it matter, a sum, he thought when he was alone again, is always approximate, there is no such thing as a correct sum, only the Nazis and teachers of elementary mathematics believed in correct sums, only sectarians, madmen, tax collectors (God rot them), numerologists who read one's fortune for next to nothing believed in correct sums. Scientists, meanwhile, knew that all numbers were only approximate. Great physicists, great mathematicians,  great chemists, and publishers knew that one was always feeling one's way in the dark.(p. 823)

...Archimboldi told her he was looking for literary publishing houses that were still active. The librarian said she could help. For while she rummaged through some papers and then she made a phone call. When this was done she handed Archimboldi a list of twenty publishing houses, the same as the number of days he'd spent typing his novel, which was surely a good sign. (p. 792)

All the critics and reviewers cite 2666 from this passage in Amulet:

I followed them: I saw them go down Bucareli to Reforma with a spring in their step and then cross Reforma without waiting for the lights to change, their long hair blowing in the excess wind that funnels down Reforma at that hour of the night, turning it into a transparent tube or an elongated lung exhaling the city's imaginary breath. Then we walked down the Avenida Guerrero; they weren't stepping so lightly any more, and I wasn't feeling too enthusiastic either. Guerrero, at that time of night, is more like a cemetery than an avenue, not a cemetery in 1974 or in 1968, or 1975, but a cemetery in the year 2666, a forgotten cemetery under the eyelid of a corpse or an unborn child, bathed in the dispassionate fluids of an eye that tried so hard to forget one particular thing that it ended up forgetting everything else. (p.897)

What a sad paradox, thought Amalfitano. Now even bookish pharmacists are afraid to take on the great, imperfect, torrential works, books that blaze paths into the unknown. ...but they have no interest in real combat, when the great masters struggle against that something, that something that terrifies us all, that something that cows us and spurs us on, amid blood and moral wounds and stench. (p.896)

And then there is the title. That enigmatic number, 2666-a date, really - that functions as a vanishing point around which the different parts of the novel fall into place. Without this vanishing point, the perspective of the whole would be lopsided, incomplete, suspended in nothingness. (p. 896)

The Gravitational Law pulls The Crimes underneath towards the Center of the World. Towards the VOID that can never be filled.
Toward WOMAN.

You have to listen to women. You should never ignore a woman's fears.(p. 348)

The forgotten cemetery is the forgotten gardens in the last pages where the descendant of Furst Pukler tells Archimboldi his story?
